Implementing the DITA Toolkit with FrameMaker

Adobe FrameMaker is a popular choice for DITA editing because many publication groups already use the application and it offers them a familiar environment in which to learn the DITA tagset and work with topics. Though it is a powerful tool, FrameMaker as a DITA editor presents several challenges. This webinar explains some authoring considerations that are unique to FrameMaker and also demonstrates some tools that help make the FrameMaker DITA environment more straightforward. This webinar presents:
  • a few best practices for authoring DITA in FrameMaker
  • a comparison of the out-of-the-box FrameMaker DITA functionality with that of Leximation's DITA-FMx plug-in
  • a brief explanation and demo of the FrameMaker Open Toolkit plug-in (optional, as this plug-in is not out-of-the-box compatible with Frame 9 and Open Toolkit 1.5)
  • an alternative to FrameMaker's native filtering which allows filtering consistent with the DITA Toolkit behavior functionality
Cost: $40, Presented By: Leigh White
