¤ June 23, 2008: Suite Solutions Assumes Leadership Role to Support PDF Generation from the DITA Open Toolkit — Suite Solutions today announced that it will accept the leadership role in supporting PDF publishing functionality provided by the DITA Open Toolkit (DITA-OT). The FO plug-in, initially developed and supported by Idiom, currently facilitates PDF generation of DITA XML documents using the XSL-FO formatting standard. See more...
¤ May, 2008: Joe Gelb will be presenting "Modular Documentation: Bringing the Pieces Together" at the X-Pubs 2008 Conference in London, UK (June 22-24). During this presentation, he will introduce an innovative, comprehensive methodology for information modeling and content development that employs recognized XML standards for representation and interchange of knowledge, such as Topic Maps and SKOS. In this way, semantic technologies designed for taxonomy and ontology development can be brought to bear for creating and managing technical documentation and training content, and ultimately impacting the usability and findability of technical information.
